Tarot XVI - Nyoko, the Tower

Few cards in the Tarot deck are always negative... even Death has positive meanings. The Tower is the exception, being associated with crisis, distress, calamity, and ruin. To this end, the Tower is one of the most dangerous of foes. She carries with her a bird cage, in which she can trap a sliver of a target's very soul, and torment them with either physical or psychic assaults. But to do so is difficult and thus, the Tower is, like it's namesake... dangerous in short bursts. A childhood friend of Tamie's, Nyoko is actually the newest recruit into the Knights. She lived for a year in ignorance of her close friend's second life, finding out one day when she got caught in the crossfire of a magical battle one night. Knowing the battles her friend was going through, she volunteered to help. Eager but inexperienced, with only two weeks of practice under her belt, Nyoko is one of the least adept at using her powers, It is ironic, then, that Nyoko was the next to last Knight to fall before the Dark Maiden. Due to her inexperience, she was initially kept back from the highly dangerous battles with the Dark Maiden and then as it become clear that the Dark Maiden's goal was the complete annihiltion of the Knights as a whole, she demanaded to be allowed to fight as well. She did well, but her inexperience left her struggling to keep up. Considering the lesser threat by the Maiden and her minions, she was literally left for last during the final battle, before being overcome and captured.
