The ancients sought to bury an ancient evil within a grand temple centuries ago. Hundreds of sealing spells, runes, wards and miracles were placed within the inky, torchless darkness of the massive cathedral to contain the evil spirits. After construction was finished almost as an afterthought, decorative angel statues were placed on the outside to symbolize the warding power of the temple. Now centuries later, the seals are all but broken, and the bottomless evil threatens to escape, if not for the last resort of the angels. On their expressionless faces you can almost see pain and exhaustion in their marble eyes as they endlessly keep the darkness at bay.
