The Earth Kingdom during the early Kyoshi Era can be a difficult place to live in; even more so when one grows up in the circus. After being seemingly abandoned by her parents; Zhili is raised in the circus by her adopted father figure Golong, who was secretly actually her father. For years Zhili did odd jobs around the circus before eventually getting her own act as she grew older. Growing up in the spotlight; she began to enjoy being a star and receiving the adoration of the crowd. Even if it was only fleeting praise, it made her feel as if she belonged and deserved the love she never received from the parents who had abandoned her. Unfortunately this would all come falling down when Zhili was injured during a performance and lost one of her legs. Even worse was that the earthbender suspected another member of the circus had intentionally caused her accident. She tried to continue to make things work and stay with the only family she had never known, but eventually left when it became too painful to stay around. Leaving with her dragon goat she eventually took a loan to start a farm and things were looking up for her. That was until her friends arrived at the same time the debt collectors came for her. Zhili would then watch as her friends burnt down her home and faked her death in an attempt to help her escape the collectors. Her heart and life fractured even more than before, she travelled to the fire nation capital with them to meet another friend. It was there that she would meet face to face with Ena Agatsuma for the first time, the sister of her friend and someone who had admired her from afar silently for years. Can the soothing warmth of the newest woman in her life help Zhili to heal her fractured heart? Or will the flames of passion consume them both?
