"Who's a pretty boy, then?"Meet Paco Papagaio, a truly AI generated character.A while back, I used a bunch of my own art to train a model (which is available here on civitai) to create Delosian Bears. Since then, I've been experimenting with pushing that model as hard as I could to see what else could be generated using it. I've done kobolds, I've done ponies, and I did some parrots.While generating those parrots, every once in a while, this teal-feathered parrot would keep showing up. And since I was generating a lot of images, to get some really good ones for posting, I ended up with a lot of images of this one blue bird. So I stuck them all together into a folder, tagged them up and ran a lora based on them.That lora was a 0.5 version. Still very primitive, but by mixing it with the existing prompt I was using, I was able to steer the design of the character being displayed, and thereby generate even more images of this character on demand.So I started running off images specifically for a model set. Close-ups, full-length images, side views, rear views... I put together a set of 42 images in total, and this is the end result: a model trained on AI generated images, of a character who appeared randomly while generating other images.Not so much deus ex machina, as avis ex machina.As for the character himself, he's a spicy and flamboyantly romantic Brazillian beach boi.He was recently updated to XL size, using the Illustrious model as a checkpoint. As technology advances, I will likely attempt more with him. Anyway....Enjoy.
