【メカザウルス・ズー / Mechasaurus Zuu】
『ゲッターロボ』第2話「決戦！三大メカザウルス」に登場する、恐竜帝国の強力な水陸両用メカザウルスです。
首長竜（プレシオサウルス）をベースにした双頭の姿が最大の特徴です。右の首は凶暴な生身の恐竜、左の首は冷たい金属のメカニカルデザインとなっており、生とメカが融合したとても個性的で恐ろしい外見をしています。
アニメ本編では、「ザイ」「バド」という別のメカザウルスと連携してゲッターロボを大いに苦しめました。得意の水中戦に持ち込み、水が苦手な「ゲッター1」を深海へと引きずり込もうとしますが、ゲッタートマホークで尻尾を切断されて脱出されてしまいます。その後、爬虫類への恐怖を乗り越えた熱血漢・巴武蔵が操縦する水中戦用形態「ゲッター3」と激突。激しい水中の死闘の末、最後はゲッター3の「ゲッターミサイル」を開いた口内に直接撃ち込まれ、大爆発を起こして爆死するという衝撃的な最期を遂げました。
その不気味でありながらも魅力的なフォルムと、劇中での大暴れっぷりは怪獣ファンからの支持も厚く、現在でもソフビ（ソフトビニール製フィギュア）などで高い人気を誇る、代表的なメカザウルスの一つです。

Mechasaurus Zuu is a powerful amphibious mecha from the Dinosaur Empire, debuting in Episode 2 of "Getter Robo" ("Decisive Battle! The Three Great Mechasauruses").
Its most defining feature is its two-headed, plesiosaur-inspired design. The right head retains the ferocious, organic form of a biological dinosaur, while the left head features a cold, mechanical design. This unique fusion of organic and inorganic elements gives it a highly distinct and terrifying appearance.
In the anime's storyline, Zuu fought alongside two other Mechasauruses, Zai and Bado, to heavily pressure Getter Robo. Taking advantage of its aquatic superiority, Zuu attempted to drag Getter-1—which is poorly suited for underwater combat—into the deep sea. However, Getter-1 escaped by severing Zuu's tail with the Getter Tomahawk. Zuu then faced off against the underwater-specialized Getter-3, piloted by Musashi Tomoe, who had just overcome his intense fear of reptiles. After a fierce underwater battle, Zuu met its demise when Getter-3 fired a "Getter Missile" directly into its open mouth, causing the Mechasaurus to violently explode.
Its eerie yet captivating form, combined with its fierce performance and shocking end in the show, has earned it strong support from kaiju fans. It remains one of the most iconic Mechasauruses, continuing to be highly popular in soft vinyl figures and collectibles today.
