The armor Tequihua and the other Aztec men wear is called an Ichcahuipilli. These armors are made of cotton and were used by different tribes in Mesoamerica, not just the Aztecs. I have seen a replica at my old workplace and it's incredible to read that the Spanish traded their metal armor for cotton due to how hot and humid Eastern and Central Mexico is.
