Jessica Peterson (previously DeBateau) is a pre-made playable Sim residing in Belladonna Cove, the neighborhood shipped with The Sims 2: Apartment Life. She is a Fortune Sim. Implied to be a gold digger, Jessica was once the wife of the well-known socialite Armand DeBateau, before he divorced her after she was found having an affair with Mystery Sim. However, her family biography mentions she divorced him when he demanded an heir.
After moving into a small mobile apartment lot, Jessica started pursuing Carlos Contender. This is perhaps due to his money (since Carlos has a large amount of cash). Strangely enough, she seems to have a good relationship with Tara DeBateau, Armand's adoptive daughter. When she is first played, Jessica is 22 days from being an elder. She is voiced by Gerri Lawlor.
Jessica has a very negative reputation score, of "Lousy Loser", possibly caused by breaking up with Armand DeBateau, a well-known socialite, and because of her only having 3 nice points, which makes her more likely to initiate negative social interactions. Mistakenly, Jessica has a memory of her parents' death, but it is a memory of unknown Sims, not beloved ones. While Armand had been in love with Jessica before they divorced, the feelings were not reciprocated by Jessica - she has no memory of falling in love with Armand.
