「だいじょうぶ。キミが休める場所くらい、ボクが守るよ」

古代の氷晶炉を心臓に宿す、自らの意志で動く機竜。青く輝く結晶状の外装と、白い分節板に覆われた大きな丸腹が特徴。その腹の奥には、猛吹雪さえ穏やかな冷気へ変えて蓄える氷晶炉が収まっている。

性格はおっとりとしていて、少し世話焼き。迷子や傷ついた相手を見つけると放っておけず、長く太い尾をそっと回して風よけを作る。鋭い顔つきで近づくため最初は怖がられがちだが、目を細めて笑うと途端に親しみやすくなる。

大きな体を支えるのは、たくましい太ももと強く折れた趾行構造の脚。丸い体格に合わせて踵も地面につけ、低く構えて踏ん張る。その安定感は抜群で、一度「ここを守る」と決めれば、吹雪にも敵の突進にも簡単には押し退けられない。

得意技は、蓄えた冷気で透明な防壁を幾重にも築く「氷晶城壁」。戦うときは大爪と重い尾を振るい、翼で舞い上がって仲間のもとへ駆けつける。ただし力を使いすぎると氷晶炉の働きが鈍り、急に眠くなってしまう。戦いが終わった途端、守った相手の隣で丸くなって寝てしまうことも。

好物は、雪解け水で冷やした甘い果実。食べると嬉しそうに黒い光沢の舌で口元をぬぐい、「これは炉の燃料だから」と、ついもうひとつ欲しがる。大きなお腹を褒められると誇らしげに胸を張るが、狭い通路でお腹がつかえたときだけは、気まずそうに目をそらす。

戦う力を持ちながら、誰かが安心して眠れる時間を何より大切にする。冷たい氷晶の内側に、あたたかな心を宿した、頼もしくもちょっぴり食いしん坊な守護機竜。

Ice Crystal Mecha Dragon Pukurugion

“Don’t worry. I’ll make sure you have somewhere safe to rest.”

An ancient ice-crystal reactor beats at the heart of Pukurugion, a mechanical dragon with a will of his own. His gleaming blue crystalline exterior and large, round belly, covered in white segmented plates, give him a distinctive appearance. Deep within that belly lies a reactor capable of turning even the fury of a blizzard into gentle, cooling energy to store for later.

Easygoing and a little doting, Pukurugion can never leave someone lost or injured to fend for themselves. He will gently curl his long, thick tail around them to shelter them from the wind. His fierce features can make him seem intimidating at first, but the moment his eyes narrow into a smile, that fear quickly melts away.

His powerful thighs and deeply bent, digitigrade legs support his bulky frame. To accommodate his rounded build, he also rests his heels on the ground, bracing himself in a low, steady stance. Once he decides to protect a place, neither a raging blizzard nor a charging enemy can easily force him aside.

His signature technique, “Ice Crystal Rampart,” uses stored cold energy to build layer upon layer of transparent barriers. In battle, he wields his great claws and heavy tail, or takes to the air to rush to an ally’s aid. Overusing his power, however, causes his reactor to slow down and leaves him suddenly drowsy. Sometimes, the moment a battle ends, he curls up beside the very person he protected and falls fast asleep.

His favorite treat is sweet fruit chilled in snowmelt. After eating, he happily licks his muzzle with his glossy black tongue and asks for just one more, insisting, “It’s fuel for the reactor.” Compliment his big belly and he will puff out his chest with pride—though if that same belly gets him stuck in a narrow passage, he will awkwardly avert his eyes.

For all his strength, what Pukurugion treasures most is giving others the chance to sleep without fear. A dependable guardian dragon with a warm heart beneath his icy exterior—and a soft spot for something sweet.
