Police Officer Akane

• Full Name: Akane (surname unknown; an alias used in human society)
• Apparent Age: Late 20s | True Age: Several centuries (Nine-Tailed Fox)
• Species: Nine-Tailed Fox (Kitsune)
• Affiliation: Metropolitan Police Department, Community Safety Division (primarily night patrol)
• Height: Approx. 175 cm (appears even larger with ears and tails included)

Appearance A beastman-type kitsune with vivid orange fur and snow-white patches on her chest and the tips of her nine tails. Her sharp golden eyes are lined with crimson, and her fangs peek out when she grins. Each of her nine tails is large and fluffy, creating a breathtaking sight as they sway in the night breeze. She wears a tight-fitting police uniform: a navy skirt, light-blue short-sleeved shirt, and a peaked cap adorned with a gleaming gold badge. A white aiguillette hangs from her left shoulder, and her black duty belt holds a radio, baton, handcuffs, and other gear. She walks barefoot on padded fox paws, allowing completely silent footsteps ideal for night surveillance.

Personality On the surface she is a cool, strict officer, but beneath that exterior she is playful and loves teasing humans. She shows no mercy to criminals, yet is surprisingly caring toward ordinary citizens. Deeply familiar with the city at night, she has connections even in the underworld’s information networks. She possesses a fox’s instinct of never letting prey escape—once she targets someone, she always catches them. Enjoys sake (especially nihonshu) but refrains while on duty.

Abilities & Skills As a nine-tailed fox she possesses high spiritual power. She can weave illusions with her tails, wreathe herself in flames, and confuse enemies. In police work she relies chiefly on her physical abilities—agility, sense of smell, and hearing—to track fugitives and locate missing persons, earning an outstanding record. Her tails can move independently and sense her surroundings even in total darkness.

Background She once lived leisurely deep in the mountains, but as supernatural beings integrated into modern human society, she became a police officer. At first she was treated with suspicion as a “monstrous cop,” but after solving numerous difficult cases, she is now trusted by citizens as the “Guardian Fox of the Night Streets.” She is especially renowned for apprehending criminals and rogue spirits lurking in the back alleys of neon-lit downtown districts.

Off-Duty Off duty she visits izakayas in kimono or casual clothes, drinking with junior officers or fellow yokai friends. She is extremely passionate about tail grooming and never skips a brushing session.
