Fun Idea - Ninja Commandos

I haven't had much time to work on the script for the Outlaw Country story (work/life balance + heat = bad grounds for creativity). I'm thinking it is mostly due to me pursuing a different kind of storytelling (journal entry from the distant past) as well as leaving the "hey, is this REALLY magic?" purposely ambiguous. Well, here's hoping these little exercises will lead to more inspiration. As for this image, it started as a small idea (Hey, what if Ninjas but also Commandos?) and then it just kind of went from there. I was thinking of Nienpon (Japan-analog in the Outlaw Country story) and what their special forces would look like. They would very much be like Addams and Morris from the Outlaw Country story: Modern gear, weapons, and some specialized equipment. Also, and this isn't set in stone, but I'm envisioning the Nienponi to be a proud people who value both tradition and evolving technological trends. The gear would be modern, yet the clothing would remain traditional. There is a good reason for not wanting to adopt new clothing: What they already have 1) works and 2) the manufacturing process was established several hundreds of years ago. Why reinvent the wheel? So yeah, I'm playing with (and leaning more towards) Nienpon has Ninja Commandos...and no, not just because I think it's cool as f█ck* *it is 100% because I think it's cool as f█ck and I am a liar 🤣
