G2I_R01: Escorials versus Delta
4
The numerous Scoriales stretched as far as the eye could see, filling the area with toxic gases and acid. Their simple yet functional technology, however, was effective. Delta's elite, on the other hand, wore high-tech suits with energy shields, plasma rifles, and all manner of accessories that, to Midori, were indistinguishable from magic. Powerful psychics bent the laws of reality around them, causing explosions or warping space to move about, while mechanized creatures constantly emerged from portals, launching themselves into the ranks of Scoriales and tearing them apart, splattering blood and limbs everywhere. Midori: "Wh-What... What the hell!?" 'What on earth did Delta call them here for? To die?' This was a fight of unimaginable scale, one where strength alone was no guarantee of victory. No matter how much Midori thought she was individually stronger than all those Scorials, their numbers were vast enough to be a meat grinder from which no warrior could escape. That made her feel insignificant... for the first time, the idea of fighting didn't even cross Midori's mind. The only consolation for her was... that her allies seemed quite monstrous in their own way. Despite their smaller numbers, their advanced technology compensated for the gap, and they were dealing devastating blows to the Scorials.
A cinematic anime illustration depicts a wide-angle medium shot of a devastating clash between a high-tech army and a mutant horde within a war-torn city. On the left, the high-tech force consists of soldiers in sleek, polished mechanical power armor and focused psychics with glowing eyes; several shimmering portals are open, with massive, multi-jointed mechs stepping through, their metal plating reflecting the ruins. Opposite them, a vast swarm of mutants with sickly grey, brown, and green skin surges forward; some wear rusted gas masks, while others reveal disfigured faces lacking noses. The mutants grip mismatched firearms, canisters of toxic gas, and lit Molotov cocktails. The setting is a ruined urban wasteland with crumbling concrete skyscrapers, shattered glass, and debris-strewn streets. The atmosphere is oppressive and chaotic, featuring a desaturated color palette punctuated by the vivid glow of portals and psychic energy, with drifting smoke and ember particles filling the air.
