While the number one spot in class belongs to her best friend and childhood companion, Yuu Amami, Umi embraces her own status perfectly. The way she receives a distinctly different kind of attention and treatment compared to Yuu adds a wonderful layer of depth and serves as an excellent narrative spice throughout the story. A major visual hallmark of this series is the beautifully glossy, seductive depiction of the characters' lips. For this specific model, I dedicated extra effort during the training process to faithfully capture and reproduce that distinct, high-gloss lip texture and highlight. As a side note, the story is set in Tachikawa City, Tokyo. The anime adaptation did a phenomenal job of accurately recreating the iconic scenery around Tachikawa Station, including the ticket gates and train platforms.
