Dragote Hero of the Evil Dragon Tribe (LORD OF LORDS RYU-KNIGHT)

Dragote, Hero of the Evil Dragon Tribe — LORD OF LORDS RYU-KNIGHT

■ Character Introduction

Dragote is a warrior of the Evil Dragon Tribe who appears in the television anime LORD OF LORDS RYU-KNIGHT. Although he stands against Adeu and his companions, he takes pride in his abilities and follows a warrior’s code of refusing to fight opponents he considers weak. A veteran of earlier battles against Ryu wielders, he is skilled in both swordsmanship and magical sword techniques.

His green draconic body is clad in red armor with pale trim. An elongated, pointed muzzle, a flowing green mane, a long neck and tail, and dramatically flared shoulder armor give him a distinctive silhouette that combines the features of a dragon with those of an armored knight.

He first appears in episode 31, “Fight, Sarutobi! The Legend of Yamikaze Reawakens.” His Japanese voice actor is Tarō Arakawa.

■ Role in the Story

While searching for the Spirit Stones, Sarutobi travels with Gratches to Asukaji, where his home village is located. There, he reunites with his childhood friend Iori and the village elder Momochi, only to discover that obtaining the Spirit Stone involves a difficult choice.

Dragote is a warrior who has been imprisoned in ice by the power of the Spirit Stone Yamikaze. When Sarutobi removes Yamikaze, Dragote is released and once again confronts the Ryu wielders. Although he belongs to the lower ranks of the Evil Dragon Tribe, his strength is recognized even by Idoro, who treats him with a respect rarely afforded to ordinary soldiers.

In episode 32, “Burn, Sarutobi! Bakuretsumaru at Full Power!!,” the unleashed Evil Dragon’s attacks leave Adeu seriously wounded, while Idoro abducts Iori. Sarutobi sets out to rescue her, and Gratches offers to accompany him. Dragote’s return thus becomes a crisis that tests both the companions’ strength and the bonds between them.

■ Setting and Design

Dragote is a living dragon warrior equipped with armor and weapons. Evil Dragon soldiers are described as beings large enough to battle the Ryu robots directly, giving them a different presence from the higher-ranking members of their kind who pilot robots. His armor alone should not be taken to mean that he is a fully mechanical robot or a cyborg.

His appearance in the anime is defined by the contrast between his green body, red-and-white armor, and dark blue-gray fabric. Cloth covers his torso and wraps around his neck. The fabric trailing down his back and the flowing green strands extending from his head create separate, distinctive lines of movement.

Facial close-ups reveal yellow-orange eyes with narrow vertical pupils and sharp white teeth. Rows of pointed red plates extend beneath his shoulder armor, while tapered waist armor, pale segmented leg armor, and prominent spikes carry the angular design throughout his body.

His weapons are a sword and shield. He is typically shown holding the sword in his right hand and carrying a tall red-and-white shield on his left arm. Some scenes feature a glowing blade, bringing together his draconic physique, knightly equipment, and magical swordsmanship.

■ Trivia and Lesser-Known Details

The title of “Hero” is not reserved for the protagonists. Dragote suggests that the opposing side also has warriors who have earned recognition among their own people. His pride offers a different perspective on a warrior’s code from the chivalric ideals pursued by Adeu.

Verified official information about the origin of Dragote’s name, detailed equipment specifications, and character-specific design commentary from the production staff remains limited.
