Descrição

The Silent One Caste: Azimuth Primordial: Resistance I went with Primordial Resistance because 2e Silent Legionnaires did not wear armor though 3e has them wearing articulated plate armor. He has the Unspeaking merit but I spent a merit dot on “local languages” to represent him knowing the sign language that is exclusive to the Silent Legionnaires. He has a scar on his forearm where his tower shield would have been bolted into his reinforced bones per 2e lore. I am trying to keep players in mind. His background as a bodyguard allows him to be an Azimuth that can be calm when required and not be ready to ruin more subtle plans or discussions by the players but be ready to attack at the slightest sign of hostility. He is not used to being in a leadership position so would be more willing to consider the players’ choices and instructions than an Azimuth with a more fiery nature. His abilities suggest he is nothing but a warrior besides a few dots in bureaucracy and linguistics. The bureaucracy from him being in a political environment while linguistics would suggest the ability to decode written messages. The linguistics is mostly to give him access to linguistics charms to minimize communications issues from him being mute that are not him making threaten rolls. For attributes primary would be physical of course, I went with mental secondary, and social tertiary. I feel like mental and social might be switchable if standing there blank-faced being intimidating counts as social strength but I am inclined to believe their mental facilities are likely intact for strategic thinking and following complex instructions but their social attributes would be near non-existent. For the mental side I focused on perception as the idea he was always watching and just left his manipulation at 1 with he can’t talk, the man has never had to tell a lie in his life. His loyalty was exclusively to the Scarlet Empress, not the Realm. She could have been dethroned and his loyalty would have been to her, not the throne. I removed his Imperial Devotion merit but he still has his defining loyalty to the Empress but with the Empress being gone, that is likely not relevant but I am going with he literally can not bring himself to harm anyone that looks like the Scarlet Empress like if there was a hypothetical situation like someone could make illusions he should not be able to harm the illusions of her unless fully aware they are illusions and if the latter that might actually tick him off rather than offer protection. I am more thinking though if somehow the party met someone that looks like her like for example V’neef, he would not be willing to harm V‘neef as if Imperial Devotion merit was in effect. With House Iselsi’s power-play for context, he has no qualms actually killing Dynasts unless contextualized with the Scarlet Empress but he has been taught to treat them as potential threats the same as everyone else. 3e does not seem to specify if they are still eunuchs. I gave him Sterile but don’t plan to bring that up to the players unless it is relevant. I am going with him being aware that he is sterile makes him aware that his options are limited, he can not live a life most commoners aspire to, having a family, etc. So, him having an interest in creative hobbies is an expression of his creative energies having an outlet. He has no particular dots in those yet to represent him not having the opportunity to do so. For how he exalted he would be a case of “With the necessary authorization from Regent Fokuf, up to a scale of these intimidating soldiers can be dispatched to accompany high-ranking Dynasts who travel abroad.” And exalted while traveling outside of the Blessed Isle. If there was going to be a Return of the Scarlet Empress storyline his loyalties could be tested between his view of the Empress and the players if the players were the type of Infernals that actually don’t want to help or they convince him she is being controlled by the Ebon Dragon. I don’t plan on doing a Return of the Scarlet Empress but that would be among background reasons why destiny chose him to be an Azimuth instead of a Dawn.
