Turkish tea

Tea was first carried by Silk Road traders to Anatolia during the 5th century. Always a popular drink, tea continues to play a big role in social gatherings. Turkey has the highest per capita tea consumption in the world and ranks fifth among the top exporting countries. Turkish tea is typically prepared using two stacked teapots called "çaydanlık": The lower is used to boil water and the upper is for the mix, producing tea with a strong flavor that can be served diluted according to taste -- but always boiling hot. It is poured on traditional tulip-shaped glasses called "ince belli".
