I am going to admit to something I never once considered, portraying raksha in a vaguely family-like dynamic. The fact that raksha can reproduce asexually and the closest to a situation of two biological parents would be oath children so I portray the average Raksha “parent” and “child” as a very calculated relationship on the parent’s side such as unshaped producing shaped offspring to send into Creation. Raksha are born adults (unless you count the ones that started as conjured minions and being a minion being a “larval” stage) and are created with a purpose in mind so I portray the parent more often than not simply viewing the child as a tool, toy, or distraction while the child might have a bit more complicated feelings such as whether they view their parent as a tyrant or not. So I assumed they really didn’t keep track of a “family tree” as anything before or distant from themselves is relevant to the importance that is their existence. I think I had a Raksha like the Red Queen explain the mentality of “the idea of me always existed, the White King was simply the one to first voice my tale,” to describe being “born” to justify how they can view themselves as the literal center of their own narrative yet be reliant on another to have come into existence. I go with it’s the view of “Time Not” that everything already existed but has been separated into moments and everything’s value and relevance is defined by the individual raksha’s interaction with it. But… there is a Raksha in a court that is described as a descendant of Prince Balor so I have to acknowledge that they do actually keep track of their lineage so… What happens if a fae descended from Raksha that survived the Balorian Crusade “went native” as in has very much alive parents and grandparents that were true believers of the cause maybe for added drama are members of the Church of Balor or even Fomorians? With the word “Church” in Church of Balor, it could be likened to the drama of a rebellious young adult from a highly conservative family but Raksha… I could see it being an oathchild so the “parents” don’t want to damage the oath involved so have to be angry but somewhat limited in the situation… Simply thought of that while passing a meme of “rebellious Drukhari (Dark Eldar)” and getting a list of wholesome traits and then the parents saying “Be ashamed of who you are.” Which I felt would apply in the situation of true believers from the Crusade having a descendant that went native.
