💞幸せを結ぶ — 中国式の結婚式 — Fetching the Bride

🌸✨ In this alternate universe, Mio and みお are twin sisters, set in a unified world where the virtual singers of Crypton Future Media, Team TWINDRILL, INTERNET Co., Ltd., and the characters of Project SEKAI: Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku coexist. 🌙🎶 💜💗💜💗💜 Story 💗💜💗💜💗 Morning light rose beyond the city walls and spilled across the festive avenue. Scarlet lanterns hung one after another beneath the eaves, their golden tassels swaying gently in the breeze. Auspicious banners decorated the entrances of shops, while every window on the upper floors of the teahouses had been opened. People waiting to witness the procession already crowded both sides of the road. The first strike of a gong sounded in the distance. Drums and suona horns soon answered one another, sending bright wedding music through the streets and announcing the arrival of the bridal procession. Children rose excitedly onto their toes, while the adults around them turned toward the far end of the avenue. Dressed in crimson-and-gold wedding robes, Kamui Gakupo appeared first on a white horse, leading the procession forward. The horse wore an elegant red saddlecloth and walked with calm, measured steps. Gakupo’s long purple hair had been gathered beneath an ornate crown, while the two locks in front of his ears still fell all the way to his waist, drifting behind him with every movement of the horse. Intricate golden embroidery spread across the collar and wide sleeves of his deep-red robes, lending him a dignified and splendid appearance beneath the morning light. Congratulations rang out continuously from both sides of the street. Gakupo smiled and acknowledged them as he guided the procession onward. Yet after every short stretch of road, he would turn slightly in the saddle and glance back at the bridal sedan following behind him. It was a magnificent sedan decorated in scarlet and gold. Blooming red flowers covered its roof, and a golden double-happiness emblem rested proudly at its center. Tassels swayed with the bearers’ steady footsteps, while the red silk shimmered softly in the morning breeze. Megurine Luka sat inside. She wore a bridal gown embroidered with golden floral patterns, its many layers arranged neatly around her. Her long pink hair had been styled with exquisite care and adorned with golden hairpins, pearls, and small red blossoms, making her look especially graceful and radiant. Outside the sedan, drums, music, and cheers filled the avenue. Within it was a quiet space that belonged only to her. Luka held an elegant round fan in her hands and listened to the white horse’s hooves striking the stone road. The sound always remained ahead of the sedan—clear, steady, and reassuring. Whenever the rhythm slowed even slightly, she knew Gakupo had turned to look at her again. At first, she wondered whether she was merely imagining it. Then a breeze lifted the red silk at the side of the sedan. Luka raised her blue eyes and found Gakupo looking directly back at her from horseback. Behind him stretched a street filled with red lanterns and fluttering banners. Around him were crowds offering laughter and blessings. Yet his gaze passed over every festive sight and settled precisely upon her. His expression remained composed, but his purple eyes held a tenderness that could not be concealed. It was as though he were silently asking whether she felt at ease. Luka’s lips curved into a soft smile. Only after receiving her answer did Gakupo turn forward again. The smile, however, remained upon his face. “Luka, Gakupo was looking at you again.” Hatsune Miku walked beside the sedan, unable to hide the amusement in her voice. As one of the bridesmaids, she wore an ornate outfit combining turquoise, scarlet, and gold. Festive flowers adorned her long twin tails, and she carried a carefully arranged wedding bouquet in her arms. Luka lowered her eyes, a faint blush appearing upon her cheeks. “I saw him.” “You noticed?” “Whenever his horse slows down, I know.” Miku could not help laughing softly. “And he probably thinks he is being subtle every time he turns around.” MEIKO, walking on the other side, had also heard their conversation. She wore an elegant red gown appropriate for her role as a bridesmaid, with a golden floral ornament resting in her short brown hair. Ever since the procession had departed, she had been carefully watching its pace, occasionally warning the bearers about changes in the road while also making sure the bride remained comfortable. “He probably only wants to make certain that the person he treasures most is truly there behind him,” MEIKO said. Her calm words made Luka’s expression soften even further. “I have been watching him too,” Luka replied quietly. At the front of the sedan, KAITO and Kagamine Len accompanied the procession as groomsmen. KAITO wore formal robes of blue and gold and carried a tall ceremonial banner. When the wind unfurled it, the golden patterns across its surface gleamed brightly, standing out among the sea of celebratory red. He glanced at Gakupo as the groom looked back once more and smiled. “The road ahead is clear, and the sedan is following perfectly well.” Gakupo returned his attention to the road and answered as though nothing unusual had happened. “I know.” Len walked nearby carrying a red brocade bag filled with wedding sweets. Hearing the answer, he immediately joined the conversation. “Then why do you keep turning around?” “I am only checking.” “Checking the sedan, or checking on Luka?” Faced with Len’s direct question, Gakupo did not answer immediately. He merely adjusted the reins, keeping the white horse’s pace steady. A moment later, his eyes once again drifted over his shoulder toward the red sedan. Len no longer needed an answer. “So you really are looking at Luka.” KAITO laughed and shook his head. “Let him be today.” “But everyone has already noticed.” As he spoke, Len reached into the brocade bag and handed several wrapped sweets to the children waving from the roadside. They thanked him excitedly and followed the procession for a short distance before their laughing parents called them back. Kagamine Rin walked among the bridesmaids with a basket of flowers and sweets. She wore formal robes of gold and white, and even her familiar bow had been embroidered with delicate festive patterns. Whenever they passed another group of well-wishers, she scattered petals into the air. Red and golden petals rode upon the wind, falling before the white horse and settling upon the ornate roof of the sedan. “Len, haven’t you already given away half your sweets?” Rin asked. “Your basket is almost empty too.” “I’m a bridesmaid. I’m supposed to scatter flowers for the bride.” “And the sweets are supposed to carry blessings from the bride and groom.” “But we have only passed a few streets.” “You threw two enormous handfuls just now.” As the twins continued pointing out how quickly the other was using up the supplies, Kasane Teto approached them carrying an ornate wedding lantern. She wore a vivid red gown, and fine golden ornaments had been woven into her crimson drill-shaped twin tails. The tassels beneath her lantern swayed with each of her steps. “Keep arguing, and the two of you can prepare all the replacement sweets yourselves.” Rin and Len turned toward her at the same time. “There’s a bag of sweets hanging from your lantern too,” Rin observed. Teto calmly moved it behind the lantern. “Those are emergency supplies prepared by a bridesmaid.” “And where are the sweets now?” “They have already become blessings for everyone.” The three stared at one another for a moment before bursting into laughter. Their laughter reached the inside of the sedan, gradually easing the tension Luka had felt because of the grandeur of the ceremony. Mio, wearing her single eyepatch, walked near the front side of the sedan. She carried a small flower basket, while her long white hair, softly tinted pink, framed her bright purple eye. Her white cat ears occasionally twitched at the sound of the drums. Whenever the crowd pressed too close, she gently asked everyone to leave enough room for the procession to pass. みお walked on the opposite side of the sedan. She wore pale embroidered robes and had decorated her white cat ears with small red flowers. Seeing several children following the procession curiously, she bent down and handed them wedding sweets. “Luka, it is incredibly lively out here,” みお said. “I can hear it,” Luka replied warmly. “Everyone is blessing you and Gakupo.” Mio smiled as well. “And Gakupo has been looking back the entire way. By now, everyone in the city must know how much he cares about you.” Luka raised her round fan to hide her reddening cheeks. “Have all of you been watching him?” “We are not doing it deliberately,” Miku answered, trying not to laugh. “He simply turns around so often that it is impossible not to notice.” MEIKO looked toward Gakupo at the front of the procession and added with a smile, “Still, every time he looks back, he checks on you before continuing to lead everyone forward. I think that suits him.” The bridal procession gradually approached a broad stone bridge in the heart of the city. Red silk had been wrapped around its railings, festive lanterns hung above its entrance, and the river below reflected the petals and vivid colors of the procession. Even more people had gathered along the banks, their cheers blending with the drums until the entire city seemed filled with joy. The white horse stepped onto the bridge first. Holding the reins firmly, Gakupo led the sedan, groomsmen, and bridesmaids slowly across. A refreshing breeze rose from the river and swept the petals into the air. Several red petals landed upon Gakupo’s shoulder, but he did not brush them away. When they reached the center of the bridge, he turned once more to look behind him. The bridal sedan moved through a shower of drifting flowers. Luka sat within it, her pink hair and crimson wedding gown glowing gently in the morning light. It was as though she had already known he would turn at that exact moment, for her blue eyes had been waiting in his direction. Their gazes met again. This time, neither of them looked away at once. Gakupo looked upon the woman who would soon become his wife, his eyes reflecting her serene and affectionate smile. The splendid procession, the lanterns filling the city, and the blessings echoing through the streets all surrounded him. Yet what brought him the greatest happiness was knowing that Luka was there in the sedan, accompanying him toward the future they had long awaited together. Within his backward glance, Luka saw tenderness and reassurance, as well as a promise that required no words. She gave him a gentle nod. Gakupo answered with a warm smile before turning once more toward the road ahead. After crossing the bridge, the bridal procession entered another avenue decorated with even greater splendor. KAITO and Len continued beside the front of the procession as dependable groomsmen, ensuring that the celebration proceeded smoothly. Miku, MEIKO, Rin, Teto, Mio, and みお remained near the sedan as bridesmaids, sharing the passing scenery and laughter with Luka. They were the most trusted attendants of the bride and groom that day, as well as cherished friends who had witnessed the path that had brought the couple to this moment. The wedding music continued, and petals still rose into the air from both sides of the street. Their destination remained somewhere ahead, and the procession still had a long road to travel. Gakupo rode at the front upon his white horse, leading everyone beneath the lanterns of the city. Whenever his longing for Luka grew stronger than the lively sights surrounding him, he would turn in the saddle and glance back at the sedan once more. And Luka always remained within that brilliant field of red, smiling as she welcomed every one of his glances. She knew that he always carried her within his heart. He knew that no matter how many times he looked back, she would be there, watching him. Amid drums, flower petals, and the blessings of their dearest friends, the bridal procession continued slowly along the avenue. The road leading toward their wedding was still long. Yet as long as they remained within each other’s sight, every step would become a memory worth treasuring.
