Jack (Border Collie - NZ Huntaway Dog) PDXL

Jack was a Border Collie mixed with NZ Huntaway. 2024 mid year will mark two years of his passing. He was a gentle, dorky, kind dog - that would make you deaf in 30 seconds flat. Not because he was being mean, but because he was a gentle giant. Sucker weighed in at 38kg at his average, and lived to see almost 13 years of age. I was not his parent, my mother was. The story goes as follows: It's roughly October of 2011, and we just had to put down our chihuahua after 15+ years of their living (they were an SPCA adoption, we were not aware of how old Nita was at the time.)... Mom was of course, cheekily looking at the dog listings on TradeMe at the time - and a dog listing came up "FREE TO A GOOD HOME" - the only downside? Farm dog, all the way up near Ashburton NZ (just south of Christchurch). Couple days later, Mom's anniversary baby comes home in a laundry basket. Needless to say he outgrew this dang basket, stole everyone's hearts and beds -- and food and toys.
