故・大城敬三会長のご趣味は囲碁でした。自社ビルの4階に自ら会員制の囲碁クラブ【本因坊】を立ち上げたほどなので、相当お好きだったのでしょう。 私たち当時の社員は会員同士のリーグ戦勝者に授与されるプレゼントの選定に悩まされ、毎回ささやかな額の商品券や囲碁に関する小物などを用意したり、対戦のない会員さんが時間つぶしに読まれる週刊誌や囲碁雑誌などを納入していました。 そんな囲碁クラブもコロナ禍の影響で６年前の２０２０年、惜しまれながら３３年の長きにわたる営業活動を終了してしまいました… The late Chairman Keizo Oshiro was an avid Go enthusiast. He was so passionate about the game that he personally established a members-only Go club named "Honinbo" on the fourth floor of the company's headquarters. We employees at the time often struggled to select prizes for the winners of the members' league tournaments; we would prepare modest items—such as gift certificates or small Go-related accessories—and stock the club with weekly magazines and Go journals for members to read while waiting for their matches. Sadly, however, the club was forced to close its doors in 2020 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing an end to its long, 33-year history.
