Seen from a slightly elevated three-quarter angle looking down into a corner booth of a warm retro kissaten, two girls sit across a polished dark mahogany table from each other. On the left side of the table, a girl with unruly medium reddish-brown hair and a prominent upright ahoge leans aggressively forward, her dark equine ears perked alertly forward. She wears an oversized white lab coat with cuffs trailing far past her hands, layered over a pale shirt and a loosened dark necktie. Her left elbow digs into the varnished wood to prop up her chin in bunched white cloth, while her sharp red eyes narrow with a teasing, inquisitive smirk directed straight at her companion. Seated upright on the right side of the booth, a girl with long raven-black hair and long bangs falling between her striking amber eyes maintains a reserved, poised posture. Her dark horse ears flick slightly backward, and a single silver earring peeks through her hair. Clad in a dark high-neck garment and fitted black gloves, both of her gloved hands gently clasp a plain white ceramic cup near her chest, keeping her fingers wrapped around its warm curvature. Her pale yellow eyes drift across the table in a calm, slightly melancholic sideways glance, meeting the other's gaze over the drifting vapor of her drink. On the tabletop between them rest two white saucers, a small silver stirring spoon, and a clear glass of water, while the softly blurred background features dark wood paneling, brass wall sconces, and the glowing glass chambers of a siphon coffee maker. Overhead, a low-hanging brass pendant lamp casts rich amber light directly onto the tabletop, causing the glossy surface of the black coffee to reflect the glowing bulb filament warped against the liquid meniscus, while a delicate spiral of translucent steam rises into the beam. The palette is rich with deep espresso, mahogany, ivory, and shadowed charcoal, enlivened by amber light and glowing iris accents. Intimate, eccentric warmth.
