1boy, solo, high school boy, athletic short hair, short black spiky hair, closed eyes, unconscious, passed out, mouth wide open, lying on bed, on back, supine, head on pillow, white shirt, unbuttoned white shirt, black t-shirt underneath, grey school uniform trousers, black belt, no blanket, bare bed sheet only, shadow on face, face in shadow, shadow cast across face, school infirmary, indoor, from above, from side, dutch angle, close-up, foreshortening, depth of field, clinical lighting, muted palette, no text
The camera looks down from above and slightly to the side of the bed, close on the boy's head and shoulders with his torso running away toward the bottom of the frame in foreshortening. He lies flat on his back on the infirmary bed, head sunk into a single white pillow that compresses under his skull, one cheek pulled slightly toward the mattress edge; the bed beneath him carries only a taut white sheet, the fabric creased in a shallow hollow where his weight and his shoulder blade press it down, and no blanket or covering lies over him -- his white shirt, black t-shirt and grey trousers are fully exposed from collar to belt. His athletic-cut hair is short and cropped close at the sides with a brush of spiky fringe over the brow, a few strands displaced against the pillow fabric. His eyes are fully closed, lids slack and undisturbed, lashes meeting the shadowed cheek; his mouth hangs wide open, jaw dropped, the dark gap of the throat visible and the lower lip fallen away from the upper teeth, corners of the mouth gone loose. One arm lies limp out to the side, forearm slack on the sheet, the open cuff of the white shirt bunched at the wrist; the other hand rests open at his hip beside the black belt, fingers curled loosely and not gripping anything. The white shirt is unbuttoned and fallen open, the black t-shirt beneath dark and flat across his chest, the grey school trousers creased at the hip and the black belt straight through its loops. A hard, low-angle light comes in from the window at the frame's edge, and the shadow falls across his face: the shadow of the window frame and the pillow's raised edge lays a dark band over his brow and eyes, cutting diagonally down across his nose while the lower half of his face, open mouth and chin catch the thin cool daylight; beyond that band the sheet is bright and his collar and shoulder are lit, so the darkness reads as a shape lying on him rather than the room being dim. The infirmary behind him recedes in soft focus: a white curtain rail, the pale green wall, a second empty bed, a metal cabinet edge, the small red gleam of a first-aid box; the palette is sealed to clinical white, pale green, black and grey with only that one red spot and the flat cool blue of the daylight. The sheet's crease deepens toward his hip in one single line, doubling back on itself where his weight rolls it under. Still, ominous.
