Her skin was pale, not white but a soft grey undertoned color that caught the lamplight like moonlit stone. Her hair was dark, nearly black, falling straight past her shoulders to the middle of her back. Her eyes were the first thing that truly registered. They were red. Not red like blood. Red like garnets, deep and clear and reflective. She was wearing a dress that looked like it belonged in another century. High collar. Long sleeves.
