A wide anamorphic cinematic view looking straight down through the layered depths of a submerged reef canyon, the camera suspended high above the reef floor and tilted so the canyon's central channel runs vertically through the frame from top to bottom. The image is built in three clearly separated depth tiers. In the lower foreground, a dense shelf of close coral sits sharp and fully resolved: branching staghorn fingers, plate corals stacked in overlapping discs, and rounded brain corals, their surfaces picked out in fine detail -- polyp texture, ridged ridges, fine sediment settled in the crevices, tiny brittle-star arms curled between the branches. These near corals are lit only dimly from above and read as dark teal and slate silhouettes against the glow behind them, every edge crisp because they sit closest to the lens.
Behind and above them, filling the middle of the frame, the hero layer: mid-canyon coral formations rising from both walls in terraced shelves, glowing with cyan bioluminescence. The glow is internal and soft-edged, brightest at the tips of the branching clusters and fading down their stems, and its intensity steps clearly back with distance -- the nearest clusters blaze an almost white-cyan, the next rank dims to a saturated cyan, the ones beyond sink toward a muted blue-green, so the coral's relative brightness alone tells the eye how far each shelf lies. Long exposure-like halos bloom faintly around the hottest tips. Mid-channel, between the two glowing walls, a loose school of small fish hangs as flat dark silhouettes, their bodies in profile, spread across several depths and slightly staggered, none of them lit from the front.
Far behind, the canyon walls dissolve into indigo haze, their ridges and buttresses reduced to soft overlapping planes of muted violet-blue, detail progressively swallowed by the water. Faint pinpoint glows from distant coral specks still show on those far walls, tiny and low in brightness, the deepest depth cue in the frame.
A strong vertical god ray descends from the top of the frame through the central canyon, a cool white-cyan shaft widening slightly as it falls. Its passage through drifting marine snow defines the light column: each suspended particle inside the shaft catches the beam and burns as a small bright dot, densest at the column's core and thinning at its edges, so the shaft reads as a solid, textured volume of light rather than a soft gradient. Outside the column the water stays dark. The beam grazes the tops of the hero coral shelves, lighting only their upward-facing surfaces and leaving their undersides in shadow, and where it meets the foreground shelf it throws a faint dappled patch across the coral plates.
Colour is graded cool throughout: teal and cyan dominate the lit zones and the coral glow, sapphire blue fills the open water and the background beyond the canyon mouth, and indigo takes the far walls, with no warm hue admitted anywhere. The palette darkens steadily toward the frame edges, and the water above the light column fades to a deep sapphire void, the ray's only source.
Polished, painterly cinematic concept art with a fantasy-film finish: crisp detailed rendering in the foreground shelf, softer brushed edges in the mid layer, and fully atmospheric diffuse edges in the far haze; a subtle natural caustic shimmer playing only on the lit upper faces of the nearest corals and nowhere in shadow.
