First of all, governments should focus on urgent issues like poverty, climate change, and healthcare. Space exploration requires extremely large amount of money, but many citizens are struggling just to survive. Investing more in space programs appears irresponsible when there are so many more pressing issues here on Earth that remain unsolved.
Rocket launches produce greenhouse gasses, damage the atmosphere, and generate space debris. Mining or colonizing other planets could harm extraterrestrial environments before we even fully understand them. Governments should focus on protecting Earth rather than risking further damage through costly and potentially harmful space programs.
Today, private companies like Space X and Blue Origin are driving innovation in the space industries at lower costs. Governments may no longer need to lead space exploration. Governments can regulate and support private ventures, saving public funds for other priorities while allowing private companies to take the risks
In conclusion, governments should limit spending on space exploration and focus on solving problems here on Earth first.
