After a brief silence— “Now—” Megurine Luka spoke. Her hand was already on the pan. “Let’s finish this together.” In an instant, eight people moved at once. Flames surged high, and the sound of oil burst into the air. “Here we go!” Kagamine Rin couldn’t help but shout. Pans flipped. Ingredients dropped. Seasoning followed. Every motion flowed in one continuous sequence. On the other side, KAITO maintained a steady control of heat. He didn’t rush, yet never fell behind. MEIKO flicked her wrist. Flames leapt, and a burst of aroma filled the air. “Hold that heat,” she murmured. Nearby— “Are you sure this is okay?!” Kagamine Rin called out. “Keep the pace,” Kagamine Len replied. “Don’t stop.” “Yeah, yeah, I know!” The pan flipped again. The sounds grew denser. At the center, Kamui Gakupo stabilized the flames. Not suppressing, not overdriving—just holding them at the perfect threshold. Just ahead of him, Megurine Luka worked her own pan. Clean. Precise. No wasted motion. She no longer directed. Instead, she became part of the rhythm itself. Occasionally, she lifted her gaze—and in the next instant, another pan followed. Like silent synchronization. “Now, finish.” The first flame went out. Then the second. Then the third. No overlap. No delay. One by one, they stopped at the perfect moment. “This one’s done,” Kagamine Len said quietly. “This one too!” Kagamine Rin followed. Elsewhere, MEIKO had already finished, and KAITO followed in sync. The sounds faded one after another. The flames dimmed. At the very end, Kamui Gakupo turned off the heat. Silence settled over the space. A brief stillness. Then heat rose gently into the air. Eight dishes, completed in succession, were arranged in a single line across the table. Different colors. Different aromas. Yet in that single moment, they became one. Not far away, Mio and みお remained at the back, quietly watching the finished line of dishes. No one rushed. No one lagged behind. As if they had already aligned from the start. “…That’s good,” Mio said softly. Her gaze did not waver. “Their coordination has formed.” みお smiled gently. “Yeah, and it’s not forced. It’s a rhythm that connected naturally.” A breeze passed through. Cherry blossoms drifted down among the dishes. “In that case,” みお continued softly, “tomorrow’s competition should be quite something.” Mio didn’t respond. She simply kept watching, as if confirming something unseen. Then— “You may begin the tasting,” she said calmly. みお gave a light smile. “Then we won’t hold back~” The air tightened once more. All ten of them stood straight at the same time, waiting for the first judgment.
