“THIS SECTOR IS DONE, NO SIGNIFICANT THREAT” (Layla's diary, page 09: Day 16 Our first order was… kinda scary, honestly. We had to destroy as many crowded population areas as possible before starting any official diplomacy with the native intelligent species. Um… yeah… that part didn’t feel very nice. There are a lot of intelligent species here, all at different levels of development, but overall they’re… pretty limited. Our normal weapons tear through their defenses like paper, like rip rip and it’s gone. Some of them—just a tiny few—can control the energies around them in really flexible ways, which sounds impressive, but they’re still not a big threat compared to our Magi-Tech and our spooky long-range psychic attacks. I heard that compared to us worker ant, the soldier ant squads are dealing with way scarier threats… but so far, there haven’t really been any serious casualties. Most of the “incidents” are just… um… friendly fire, tripping and falling, flipping vehicles, or bumping into each other while flying. Which is kind of embarrassing, actually.)
