🌸✨ In this alternate universe, Mio and みお are twin sisters, set in a unified world where the virtual singers of Crypton Future Media, Team TWINDRILL, INTERNET Co., Ltd., and the characters of Project SEKAI: Colorful Stage! feat. Outside the window, the sounds of the cultural festival continued to flow in the distance, but inside this space, everything felt slowed—quiet, restrained. Luka Megurine’s breathing was still a little unsteady. The moment she had just lost her balance again had been too fast—too fast for her body to react with anything other than instinct, leaving only the need to grab onto something. And now, her hand was still resting against Gakupo Kamui’s chest. Not pressing. Not leaning. Just something that had not yet fully withdrawn. Gakupo did not move. He was still half-sitting on the floor, one hand maintaining the position that had kept her steady. His gaze stayed on her—calm, steady, quiet. Not anxious. Not checking. But something closer to waiting. “…Take it slow.” His voice was lower than before. Not a command, not even really advice—more like something gently adjusting the pace of the moment itself. “…Yeah.” Luka paused slightly. She should have pulled away immediately. But for that one second, she didn’t move. It was too close. Close enough for her to feel the steady rise and fall of his chest, calm and rhythmic, like a kind of support that didn’t need words. Close enough for her to realize she had just fallen back into this exact distance. Her mind went briefly blank. Then a quiet thought surfaced. “…Why does this feel so reassuring?” Not from the moment she was caught earlier—but from this, the state of not being fully separated yet. She should feel embarrassed. She should feel flustered. She should be pulling away quickly. And yet she only slowly began to gather her balance back. Her fingers moved slightly. As if she had only just remembered she was supposed to let go. But there was no rush in the movement. If anything, it was even more careful than before. As if she was afraid of losing balance again. Gakupo did not rush her either. He simply watched. His gaze remained steady, without excess emotion, without looking away. But only he knew that he was also subtly adjusting his breathing. The instinct from moments ago—when she had suddenly fallen back toward him—had been faster than thought itself. There had been no time to decide whether to act. Only the reflex to keep her from getting hurt. And even now, that instinct had not fully faded. It lingered quietly. Luka finally shifted her body back slightly. Her hand was still on his chest, but no longer in contact as support—only as a transitional point of withdrawal. At that moment, a thought from earlier returned briefly. “…Was he always this handsome?” But it did not linger this time. Because another feeling followed immediately. “…Can someone like this really just stay a friend?” She froze slightly. No answer came. But she did not deny it either. Gakupo’s gaze shifted faintly. He noticed her beginning to pull away. A small movement—but very clear. He did not speak at first. Then he added quietly, “Make sure you’re steady before you get up.” That sentence gently pulled reality back into place. Luka took a soft breath. “…Okay.” She moved back a little more. The contact at her chest had now become extremely light—barely anything more than the suggestion of touch. But she still hadn’t fully separated. As if making sure she wouldn’t lose her balance again. And also as if delaying the moment she would have to fully stand. Gakupo still did not move. He simply watched her. Quietly waiting. And the moment stayed there— where she was already beginning to leave, but had not yet fully broken away. Where neither of them had spoken what they felt. And neither had yet stepped past the distance between them.
