Camera looks sharply upward from near the floor through a dutch tilt, so the four figures tower and lean across the frame diagonally: Poison Ivy stands at the right, tallest in frame and closest to the lens, weight on her back hip, torso turned three-quarters to the left, one bare green shoulder forward and the other arm extended horizontally across the centre of the frame at chest height, fingers spread, a single heavy-headed red flower held upright in her palm with its pollen drifting off it in a slow luminous thread. To her left, staggered at three depths, Catwoman, Zatanna and Batgirl stand shoulder to shoulder but slumped, each caught in the same sway: heads lolled back and to one side, jaw hanging open, a single glossy strand of drool running from each lower lip and breaking into a hanging bead that catches the light, eyes open but empty with the pupils gone soft and spiralled, lashes fluttering at half-mast. Catwoman is nearest Ivy, her black bodysuit zipped high, goggles pushed up on her head, short black hair sticking to her damp cheek, one gloved hand hanging loose and claws just grazing her own thigh, knees bent inward. Zatanna stands behind her in the middle, top hat tilted low, white bow at her collar, black leotard and fishnet pantyhose, white-gloved hands lifted uselessly to chest height as if she has forgotten how to lower them, drool sliding down her chin onto the fishnets. Batgirl holds the far left, long red hair hanging forward over her face in loose strands, cape hanging off one shoulder, arms slack at her sides, boots planted wide for balance she no longer has. All three of their gazes are pulled toward Ivy's flower, unfocused, and Ivy's gaze comes back down the beam of her own arm at them, locking the contact. The only light is the flower and the drifting spores: a green-gold glow that rises from below and from Ivy's palm, striking the undersides of three chins, the wet shine on three lips and the beads of drool, and the flat undersides of Zatanna's hat brim; everything above and behind the figures falls into deep blue-green shadow, and the greenhouse's vines and glass ribs dissolve into darkness behind their shoulders. Long soft shadows are thrown upward and back across the leaves. Palette is strictly green, black and warm skin tones, with the red flower and three red mouths as the only warm accents. The drool beads elongate under their own weight in the still air. Hypnotic, unsettling.
