Education! Until recently, there was no such thing as an educational system. The previous generation learned what they knew by observing their elders, exploring on their own, and being occasionally instructed by an adult who took the time to teach. But now they are no longer the same ignorant insects they once were. They know that to have useful members, one must start early, and so Aoi proposed a systematic education plan, of which Demi and Alex would be the first test. Lacking time and resources, the school was temporarily set up in Aoi's house/laboratory/hospital/library... (at this point, that place is becoming a repository of everything vital to the colony; they really need to build a couple more buildings).
