Rika had been promised three things: tea, cake, and absolutely no Byte-related incidents. Technically, two of those promises were kept. The tea was excellent. The cake was adorable. The gothic dress Rika had picked out was immaculate. For nearly eleven peaceful minutes, she sat beneath the chandelier wondering if maybe—just maybe—Byte had finally learned how to behave in a room full of fragile antiques. Then she heard it. “RIKA.
