First-person POV: the camera IS the viewer, and the girl fills the frame from just over arm's length, caught in a tight dutch angle that tilts the whole room a few degrees off level so the walls lean in around her. Her right arm is thrust straight at the camera in extreme foreshortening, forearm thickening as it nears the lens, her hand closed hard on the viewer's throat — fingers wrapped around the sides of the neck just under the jaw, thumb pressed into the hollow, tendons standing up on the back of her hand, nails dug in. The viewer's own chin and nose are cropped out of the bottom of the frame, so the choke reads purely from the clamp of her grip and the way her fingers compress against the lens edge. Her left hand comes in from the other side at a lower angle, dagger held in a reversed grip, the steel blade running toward the camera with the tip enlarged by proximity and aimed dead centre at the viewer's eye — the blade catching light in a long specular streak down its edge, blood slicked along the fuller and beaded at the point, one fat drop hanging and about to fall.
Her face is close behind the two arms, tilted forward and down toward the viewer, half in shadow. Red eyes, luminous and wet-looking, stare straight down the blade at the viewer with the whites showing all around the irises; her mouth is open in a snarl of bared teeth and stretched lips, a manic grin cutting through the blood. Blood is flung across her face in a slap of spatter from cheekbone to jaw on one side, a streak smeared where she wiped her mouth with the back of her wrist, dark drops caught in her eyelashes and running from the corner of one eye like a red tear. Her white cotton button-down shirt is soaked through in huge deep-red blooms across the chest, the collar and one torn cuff, the fabric clinging translucent where it's wettest; her black trousers carry dark wet patches at the thigh and knee. Both her hands are gloved in blood to the wrist, knuckles and the webbing between the fingers glossy with it.
Behind her, a near-black room: no light source but one hard, cold rim light raking from the upper left, which picks out the edge of her right arm, one cheekbone, the ridge of the dagger and the stray hairs lifting around her face, leaving everything else swallowed in black. The wall behind her is smeared with a broad arcing streak of blood where something was dragged across it, and on the floor beneath her the blood has pooled and spread into a dark glossy sheet, throwing back the one small highlight as a stretched distorted reflection — the reflection darker and softer than the blade above it — and running along the seams between the floorboards in thin dark lines. Her weight is committed forward onto her front foot, hips behind the thrust, coat-tails of the untucked shirt swinging with the lunge. Palette: black, blood red, the cold white of the shirt, and the silver of the steel — nothing else. Claustrophobic, murderous.
