Its right front claw is caught at the precise instant of follow-through, striking a massive, glistening spherical dewdrop and sending it rocketing forward with dramatic foreshortening. The impacted dewdrop flattens elastically along its leading edge from the blow, shedding tiny airborne micro-droplets while prominent anime-style speed lines streak sharply backward from its flight path. Its mouth is wide open in a delighted, toothy grin as its golden eyes fixate on the opponent court ahead. Dividing the moss-paved playing field, an intricate spiderweb stretched taut between two upright woody twigs serves as the volleyball net, its concentric silk threads beaded with miniature crystalline droplets that shiver from the displaced air. Through and beyond the net in deep depth of field, two lizard opponents scramble across the far court to receive the speeding water ball: a russet-spotted lizard skids belly-first across the damp green cushion with forelegs splayed in a desperate low dig, its eyes saucer-wide, while a slate-blue lizard with a serrated back crest hops backward in defensive readiness, front paws raised and tail coiled. Slanted morning sunbeams pierce through the high fern fronds overhead, casting sharp dappled light and crisp shadows across the velvety moss carpet, while the translucent dewdrop refracts an inverted miniature image of the forest canopy inside its glowing core. Exuberant playfulness.
