Catarina von Savoyen AKA USS Prinz Eugen

Olympia Catarina, Fürstin von Savoyen-Carignan One of the first German-built warship kami to be reborn as a shipgirl, this is the daughter of three nations known to friends as Catarina von Savoyen; close friends know her better as "Rinnie". The reborn kami of KMS Prinz Eugen, one of the very few Kriegsmarine major warships to survive the Second World War, she would be turned over to the United States as a war prize; once that happened, she became USS Prinz Eugen with hull classification IX-300 (the "IX" meaning "miscellaneous auxiliary vessel"). Due to her issues with engines as well as the plethora of heavy cruisers already in commission for Uncle Sam, Eugen would be sacrificed as a target ship in the Operation: Crossroads nuclear weapons tests at Bikini Atoll in the summer of 1946. Surviving both, she would be towed to Kwajalein Atoll, where unseen damage would see her capsize at anchor, where she remains today in real life. In the universe of The End of the Circus during the "extreme shipgirl" incident in the mid-summer of 2012, Moroboshi Ataru's sisters Tenhiro Haruka (Fauchard) and Aria des Beauchamps (Douceâtre) would travel to Kwajalein to awaken the kami of Prinz Eugen as a shipgirl. With the help of President Jed Bartlet - who actually released a Magical Executive Order for the occasion - said kami would be reborn as Catarina, adopted member of the Royal House of Savoy where her namesake, Prince Eugene Francis of Savoy-Carignano (1663-1736), was born from in Paris and would serve the Holy Roman Empire from 1683 to 1734. Because of this, she would be seen more as an adopted daughter of Austria, not Germany...however, as is well known, by the time the third of the Admiral Hipper-class cruisers was built, Austria had been absorbed into the Third Reich and she would be named in honour of that event which united the two largest German-speaking nations under one government for the first time in over a century. Of course, being a survivor of the Second World War would impact Catarina in a very specific way: Her knowledge of the Holocaust, which her crew learned of after the surrender on VE-Day. Because of that, she would gladly accept having a commission in the United States Navy, assigned as President Bartlet's personal liaison to the Moroboshi family. With that, Catarina became one of Ataru's intimate friends, which annoyed Redet Lum and her supporters to no end...not that any of them could hurt the adopted daughter of Vienna, given that she had resisted close-range TWO ATOMIC BOMBS without visible damage at Bikini! Of course, given that she is adopted of the House of Savoy, Catarina was given the noble honorific Fürstin ("lady first"/"princess")...even if she finds such to be a little embarrasing. As she said to Haruka and Aria, "Ich bin keine Prinzessin" (I'm not a princess).
