The aircraft displays its radical canard layout: small horizontal stabilizer foreplanes extend from the forward fuselage behind a blunt nose housing four recessed cannon ports, while broad swept-back main wings mount twin downward-pointing vertical rudders and house a six-bladed pusher propeller stalled at the tail cone. A thick, unbroken blanket of matte gray dust covers every upward-facing plane—the spine of the fuselage, the swept wings, the canard surfaces, and the weathered multi-panel glass canopy—dulling the faded Imperial Japanese Navy dark green paint and muting the worn red roundels on the fuselage sides. The landing gear tires sit flattened and dry-rotted against accumulated floor grit, with delicate cobwebs spanning the gaps between propeller blades and rudder struts. High above, rusted iron roof trusses frame fractured glass skylights where diagonal columns of sunlight pierce the gloomy blue-gray industrial interior, illuminating suspended motes of air-borne dust before striking the fighter's weathered metal skin. Dust lies settled exclusively on the horizontal planes, leaving the vertical fuselage flanks streaked with old condensation runs and bare oxidized alloy. Desolate stillness, forgotten history.
