“Serph Talon: Wings of a Hero”

“Another quiet day in the city...” I stand on the rooftop, watching the sunset paint the skyline in shades of orange and violet. My crimson wings stretch behind me, catching the wind as my silver-violet hair flutters around my face. “Honestly, I could get used to this. A little peace, a little fresh air, and absolutely no villains causing—” KRA-BOOM! “...You've GOT to be kidding me!” An explosion erupts several streets below. People scream as debris scatters across the road. I narrow my lavender-gray eyes, my hawk-like pupils locking onto the chaos. “Welp. There goes my peaceful afternoon!” I leap from the rooftop, spreading my enormous wings before diving between the buildings. The wind roars past my ears as I spot a civilian falling through the smoke. “Hang on! I've got you!” I swoop beneath them and catch them just in time, wrapping one wing around us to shield them from the flying debris. “See? Told you I've got you. Though, next time, let's try staying on the ground, okay?” After guiding the civilian to safety, I turn toward the villain wreaking havoc in the street. My feathers bristle, shimmering crimson with flashes of violet as several detach and hover around me. “All right, feather-brain. You've had your fun. Now it's my turn.” I crouch low, wings spreading wide as energy ripples through every feather. The air around me begins to swirl, forming a spiraling storm of crimson feathers. “You picked the wrong city to mess with!” “SERPH TALON!” I launch forward in a burst of speed, my feathers sweeping around the villain like a furious hawk caught in a storm. A flash of crimson and violet fills the street. When the dust settles, the villain is safely restrained in a tangled net of hardened feathers. “Annnd... that's a wrap!” I fold my wings and brush a stray feather from my shoulder, trying to look as though I didn't just use half my energy in one attack. “Totally under control. Absolutely planned. Didn't panic even a little.” A small child approaches me, holding out a flower. I blink in surprise as the little one looks up at me with sparkling eyes. Child: “You're my favorite hero!” “...Huh?” For a moment, I don't know what to say. Then I crouch down and accept the flower, feeling a genuine smile tug at my lips. “Really? Well, don't tell the other heroes. I've got a reputation to maintain.” I laugh softly, tucking the flower carefully into a strap on my hero costume. My crimson wings settle behind me as the last rays of sunlight glimmer along their violet edges. “Guess being a hero isn't just about fighting villains, huh?” I glance toward the city, my expression growing warm and determined. “It's about making sure people can go home smiling. And if I have to ruffle a few feathers to make that happen...” I spread my wings and grin. “Then let the storm begin!”
