At the visual center, a wide, solid wooden mortar rests on flat flagstones; inside its hollow, a glossy mound of pale sage-green yomogi mochi rests dusted with white rice starch, a single elastic ribbon of sticky green dough pulling upward toward the mallet head to reveal its fresh chewiness. To the left, the grandfather is rendered with oversized chibi proportions, bending his knees in a stable, buoyant stance as both hands grasp the long polished handle of a heavy wooden mallet hoisted at shoulder height. His round face beams with a crescent-eyed smile and rosy cheeks above a neatly trimmed white beard, dressed in an indigo cotton yukata tied with a crisp white obi, the hem clearing his wooden geta sandals. Facing him across the mortar, a fluffy round white rabbit balances on its hind paws, its ears perked straight and its forehead tied with a knotted vermilion hachimaki whose ends flutter backward. With both paws raised, the rabbit holds a miniature wooden mallet poised mid-strike, its mouth parted in spirited cheer. Directly behind them, an immense, luminous butter-yellow full moon fills the clear night sky, casting a warm honey rimlight over the figures and projecting crisp, short cast shadows on the stone floor, while tall plumes of susuki grass rustle in an earthenware vase nearby amid gently drifting maple leaves. Rendered in a modern chibi-focused anime style with rounded proportions, oversized heads, and soft pastel palettes; clean linework, dense decorative elements, playful expressions, and sticker-like compositions; cute yet polished, blending contemporary kawaii trends with rich textures and lively color accents; warmhearted and celebratory.
