She perpetuates the history of two HMC Ships Quinte which served in the Royal Canadian Navy, the first being a World War Two-era minesweeper that served throughout most of that conflict and the second being a minesweeper which served in the first two decades of the Cold War. She takes on the form of a green Orion as there is a considerable diaspora of that race now living in enclaves across Canada.
