Palette is strictly red, black, grey, blue and white, nothing else admitted: red in the woman's dress, black in the lace trim, pumps, tailcoat and shadow, grey in the top hat, cravat and floorboards, blue in the ghost's translucent body and the rim light, white in the shroud, the bones, the dress shirt and the spotlight's core. Dust motes drift through the beam, small pale specks left entirely inside the cone, thin outside it. Joyful, theatrical.
