The second creature occupies the corridor just above and right of the first, also cheerful: it has stopped and thrown both nub arms up overhead in a stretch, leaning back so its body arcs, head tipped back, mouth open in a delighted little cheer, pointed at nothing in particular. The third is far away in the upper-right, alone in a short blind corridor that ends flat against a hedge on every side: it stands hunched, body curled forward and slightly shrunk, nub arms hanging limp and crossed low, head turned up and outward scanning the hedge tops for a way out, tiny brow lines pinched together, mouth pulled into a small wobbling pout, one cheek puffed. Around it the creeper has closed over the corridor mouth behind it, so the dead end is real; a single leaf sits flat on the top of its head where it fell from the hedge above, unnoticed. The light is the flat, even, shadowless light of high midday sun straight down — the hedge tops are lit face-on, each corridor between them holds a thin band of soft green shade along one inner wall where the near hedge blocks the sun, and the shade always falls on the same side of every corridor, keeping the maze's orientation legible. Palette: fresh mid-green hedges, darker moss green in the corridor shade, warm tan of bare packed earth on the trodden paths, and the creatures a pale yellow-green that pops against both. High resolution, crisp fine detail in the hedge texture and the leaf litter, quiet and playful.
