More to See

1girl, solo, wolf girl, wolf ears, animal ears, left ear notched, chipped ear, long tail, black tail, red streaks in tail, jet black hair, white streaks in hair, shoulder-length hair, short hair, wet hair, golden eyes, tareme, droopy eyes, dark circles under eyes, faint dark circles, muscular, muscular female, flat chest, top surgery, masculine chest, bare chest, towel, white towel wrapped around waist, bath towel, soaking in bathtub, bath, bathroom, deep in water, submerged, sighing, open mouth, fangs, sharp teeth, tired, exhausted, lifeless eyes, listless, sad, melancholic, gender dysphoria, suffering expression, spaced out, zoning out, looking at viewer, hands on edge, arms on tub edge, arms hanging, draping arms, relaxed hands, close-up, face focus, front view, from front, from above, steam, wet skin, water droplets, domestic bathroom, The image is a tight front-facing close-up taken from slightly above eye level, so the viewer looks down into her face as she sinks low in the bathwater. The frame holds her head and the tops of her bare shoulders, the waterline crossing just below her collarbones; the bathwater comes up to her chest, so the flat, surgically masculinised plane of her chest reads only as a broad straight line of pale skin meeting water, no curve, the muscle of her shoulders and upper arms carrying the mass instead. A white towel is wrapped around her lower body, invisible beneath the opaque water, its damp folded edge rising at the far lower left of the frame where the waterline meets the tub wall. Her face fills the close-up: droopy golden eyes with heavy upper lids, the irises dull but catching the bathroom light in one small highlight as if a thought is still moving behind them; faint violet-brown dark circles smudged under both eyes; a short thick brow pulled slightly together. She is caught mid-sigh, mouth open small and slack, one white fang showing at the corner of her parted lips, the lower lip slack, her whole jaw loose with exhaustion. Her gaze slides slightly off to one side rather than meeting the lens — a search for something beyond the tub, not a greeting. Her hair is soaked: jet black, shoulder-length, cut short, strands stuck flat to her forehead, temples and both cheeks in wet dark ropes, a few pale white streaks running through the black and clinging translucent where they cross her skin. Jet black wolf ears rise from the top of her head, both fur slicked down by steam, the left ear notched and missing a small wedge of its rim. A single bead of water hangs from the tip of one wet black strand and drops toward the water. Both arms are draped limp over the near edge of the tub, wrists slack, forearms resting against the porcelain, hands hanging downward past the rim with the fingers curled and heavy, the warm grey tub edge biting a line into her forearms; a thin trace of water runs off her fingertips. Behind her, the bathroom wall recedes in soft-focus pale grey tiles; a small shelf of bottles on the right edge stays out of focus and its labels are illegible. But the important thing is the light source: a single warm ceiling fixture above and slightly in front of the tub, laying a broad highlight across her forehead, nose bridge, shoulders and the water's surface, with the shadow falling soft under her chin and eyes and the room beyond the tub's pool dimming into cooler shadow. Steam curls in the light in slow visible ropes and blurs the far tiles, and the water's surface shatters her reflection into broken, overlapping rings that spread outward from where her ribcage meets the surface. Palette: jet black and soaked white hair, warm grey bath and porcelain, a low amber cast from the single fixture, dull gold in the eyes. Quiet, heavy, tender sorrow.
