Seen from a low angle looking up, one bee-girl hovers in an empty dark field, her compound eyes catching a green-tinged glow from somewhere beneath her. Instead of a human face she has a bee's: twin antennae emerging from the crown of that long blonde hair, its single braid swinging loose behind her shoulders. Her eyes are enormous and faceted, yellow eyes with a compound shimmer, and a small pair of mandibles shifts at her jaw. Aether's white costume is cut close over her feminine figure and brimming chest, the gold pauldrons and black-gold trim the only bright metal in the frame. Where the legs would be, the black-and-gold-striped abdomen of a bee tapers down and back into the dark, and two faintly translucent wings thrum at her shoulders. Four arms fan from her torso, the lower pair folded at the waist and the upper pair reaching out, one hand opened toward the lens. Below her, the light pools into the emptiness. She looks straight down the low, raking camera, eyes wide. Quiet uncanny wonder.
