1boy, solo, plague doctor, male, tall, 190cm, slender build, average-width shoulders, black hooded tunic, leather tunic, smooth tanned leather, long hood, black leather boots, white plague doctor mask, beak mask, glowing eyes, yellow-orange eyes, glowing lenses, medical bag, brown leather bag, shoulder bag, long knife, blood on blade, blood-stained weapon, right arm down, arm at side, hand gripping knife, left hand on mask, hand on face, despair, from below, cowboy shot, dutch angle, town square, large bonfire, fire behind character, embers, sparks, medieval houses, two-story houses, timber-framed buildings, night, realistic, detailed shading, dramatic lighting, backlighting, rim light, Low-angle Dutch-tilt cowboy shot from roughly hip height, tilted a few degrees so the square's paving runs off-diagonal; the plague doctor fills the left two-thirds of the frame, seen three-quarters from his front-left, feet planted apart on worn cobblestones, weight on his back right leg, his long hooded tunic of smooth tanned black leather falling in heavy unbroken folds to mid-calf, its grain catching a hard firelit sheen along the raised ridges and going matte in the creases. The stark white beak-like mask curves down and forward over the frame's center-left, its two round lenses dark glass with a yellow-orange glow burning behind them, the light spilling a faint amber wash onto the inner rim of each lens and onto the top edge of the beak; the hood's leather shadows the crown of the mask without hiding it. His left hand is raised and pressed flat against the mask's left cheek plate, fingertips curled, the leather glove creaking at the knuckles, elbow tucked in — a gesture of despair, head tipped slightly down into that palm. His right arm hangs straight down along his side, fingers closed hard around the long knife's grip, the blade angled down and slightly back past his hip, its edge and lower third smeared with dark dried blood that catches a dull red in the firelight. The old dark-brown leather medical bag hangs on a strap from his right shoulder, riding against his right hip, flap worn pale and cracked at its fold, brass buckle tarnished, the bag swinging a touch outward from the body mid-stride of its own weight. Behind him, off to the frame's right and several meters back, a large bonfire roars in a ring of stones, flames leaning and torn sideways in a gust, sparks streaming up and drifting left; the fire is the only light source — it rims the doctor's right shoulder, hood and mask edge in hot orange, throws his long shadow forward and to the left across the cobbles, and leaves the rest of him in deep cool shadow. Beyond the fire, a row of two-story medieval houses closes the back of the square: jettied upper floors overhanging the street, timber framing dark against pale plaster, steep tiled roofs, shuttered windows with only one or two lit dimly from within, their facades paling into haze and smoke toward the top of frame. Negative space opens in the upper-left sky, smoke-tinted and empty. Palette: black leather and black wool, bone-white mask, ember orange and amber firelight, cold blue-grey shadow in the stone and sky, one dark red on the blade. Smoke drifts between the fire and the doctor, softening the house row; a fine ash settles on the upward-facing planes of his shoulders and hood. quiet dread
