Very Mad wolf

More to See

2girls? no -- 1boy, 1girl, hetero, couple, hug, holding one another close, happy, smile, open mouth, :d, wolf boy, grey wolf ears, bushy grey tail, forest-green oversized knitted sweater, tan corduroy trousers, fox girl, reddish-orange fox ears, fluffy fox tail, cream cable-knit cardigan, pale pink floral dress, sheltering under a roof, standing under eaves, rain, heavy rain, rainstorm, rain streaks, wet ground, puddle, from below, low angle, cowboy shot, dutch angle, looking at each other, head tilt, leaning together, arms around waist, arms around neck, tail wagging, ears perked, cozy, warm Low-angle cowboy shot, tilted slightly off level, looking up at the two of them from beneath the overhang: they stand pressed together in the narrow dry strip under a deep wooden porch roof, the boy's back nearly against the doorframe on the right, the fox girl tucked into his left side with her cheek against his sweater. He is the taller of the two, broad-shouldered in a loose forest-green oversized knit whose cuffs swallow his wrists; his grey wolf ears stand up with the rain-sound and one swivels toward her, and his bushy grey tail curls forward around the outside of her calves. His right arm is wrapped low across her back, palm flat against the cream cable-knit of her cardigan at her far shoulder blade; his left hand rests at the back of her head, fingers light in her hair, not gripping. The fox girl stands with her weight on her left foot and her right toe hooked behind his ankle; both her arms are around his waist, hands clasped at the small of his back, fingertips digging into the knit. Her reddish-orange fox ears are tilted inward toward him, and her fluffy fox tail sweeps up and curls around her own hip, the tip brushing the front of his corduroy trousers. Her pale pink floral dress hangs below the cardigan's hem. They are turned toward each other, not to the camera; his chin is down and his eyes are on her face, his mouth open in a big unguarded grin with the corners creased, and she has her chin lifted to meet his look, laughing with her eyes squeezed into crescents. Their faces are a hand's width apart. Beyond the porch edge the rainstorm fills the frame: dense slanting streaks driven left to right by wind, hammering the packed dirt yard and the broad leaves of a shrub at the left edge, each leaf whipping under the drops. The rain does not reach the two of them -- the porch roof cuts a clean dry wedge across the boards at their feet, where the wood is pale and dusty, and everything past that line is dark, glossy and soaked. A single puddle on the flagstone at lower left takes the blows in overlapping rings. One visible bit of physics: the runoff from the roof edge falls as a continuous beaded curtain just in front of the boy's shoulder, and the drops break into spray where they hit the step, misting the air beside his sleeve. Behind them the porch is a warm brown darkness with the door's planks barely legible, and far beyond the rain the street and its buildings dissolve into grey-blue haze. Light: a soft, cool overcast daylight from the upper left, the storm's own diffuse glow, laying a pale rim along the boy's grey ear tips, her fox ears, and the outer edge of his sleeve, while their front faces hold a gentle warmshine bounced off the dry boards under the roof. The palette is deliberately split: cool slate-blue and wet grey for the storm and the soaked yard, warm forest green, cream, pale pink and rust-orange for the two of them, with the dry wood boards a soft honey brown. Their shadows fall together onto the porch floor as one dark shape. Rain streaks pass between the camera and the porch posts in soft focus, one or two catching the light across the foreground. Tender, warmly sheltering.
