Meloetta presses in on Greninja's left: a slim figure with long green hair sweeping down over one shoulder, black eyes wide and half-lidded with contentment, both arms wrapped tight around Greninja's left forearm, her hip and knee braced against Greninja's thigh, her cheek squashed flat against the forearm's blue skin — the cheek visibly compressed to a soft raised rim where it meets him. On the right, Diancie has threaded her own left arm through Greninja's right arm and hooked her hand around it, pressing her shoulder to Greninja's upper arm; she is a small figure of pale purple stone-like skin with stiff protruding spurs at her shoulders and ears, pink eyes with red sclera, pink twintails bouncing as she leans in on tiptoe, chin lifted, a closed-lip smile bright and shameless, eyes turned up toward Greninja's face. Greninja is the tall center, weight shifted back onto the right leg with the left knee slightly bent as if about to give ground, both forearms pinned and held rigid at his sides, webbed hands splayed open and useless, shoulders drawn up; his white eyes are wide and his pink-red pupils shrunk small, a bead of sweat at the temple, a scarf-like tongue coiled slack at his throat, long dark blue ponytail swinging back away from the two girls, ahoge bent forward. He looks down and to his left at Meloetta, then his eyes cut right toward Diancie — caught between the two. The scene is Thanksgiving fall: a thick maple trunk behind them, drifts of orange and red leaves banked against its base, a woven basket and two pumpkins resting on the path behind Greninja's legs, leaf litter scattered across the ground and a few leaves skidding through the air. The light is low golden-hour sun coming from camera-right and behind, rimming the tops of the ponytails, Diancie's spurs and Greninja's shoulders in warm gold while their fronts fall into soft amber shade; long shadows stripe the leaf-covered path toward the camera. Palette of orange, russet, gold and deep blue against the blue skin and green hair, nothing cool beyond the figures themselves. The detail budget goes to the contact: the flattened cheek, the fingers laced around Greninja's forearm, the crinkle of Diancie's twintails against his shoulder. Tender, warm, quietly flustered.
