More to See

character: rosalina 1girl, solo, rosalina, blonde hair, long hair, ponytail, hair over one eye, blue eyes, full body, lying down, on back, lying on grass, flower meadow, starry sky, night, looking up, gazing at stars, sailor school uniform, white sailor dress, blue collar, blue fuku, blue pleated skirt, white pantyhose, blue and white sneakers, bare hands, no hat, from side, profile, slightly from above, wide shot, The camera looks down at a shallow angle from beside her, so she lies across the frame as a long diagonal from lower left to upper right, and the entire length of her body stays inside the shot: sneakers at the lower left, ponytail spread at the upper right. She is flat on her back in the flower meadow, her spine sunk an inch into the flattened grass, shoulders and the back of her head bedded down in it. Her left arm is folded across her stomach with the palm resting on the white fabric just above the waistband of the blue skirt; her right arm is thrown out to the side, wrist loose, fingers brushing the grass and half-curled around a thin stem. One knee is bent, the left, the sneaker planted flat with the sole creased, while the right leg lies long and straight, the toe of the other sneaker flopped outward. The white sailor uniform is thrown into deep folds by the pose: the blue collar spread slightly askew over the collarbone, the blue fuku knotted loosely, the white sleeves pushed up to the elbows, the blue pleated skirt fanning and creasing against the white pantyhose that runs smooth and unbroken down both legs to the ankles. Her long blond ponytail spills sideways through the grass, its tail curling at the tips; loose strands lie across her cheek, and the long fringe covers one eye completely while the visible blue eye is wide open and fixed straight up on the sky, catching pinpricks of starlight. Her lips are parted a little, soft and unguarded, her brow smooth with faint wonder rather than a posed smile. Contact points: the back of the head and both shoulder blades pressed into the flattened grass, the left sneaker sole flat on the ground, the bent knee's heel taking weight, the right hand's fingers meshed in stems. Around her, white and pale blue star-shaped flowers and small daisies on thin stalks stand up against the sky, a few of them silhouetted right at the frame edge in the foreground and out of focus. Above, the whole upper half of the picture is deep night, near-black at the top right shading to a dim violet-blue at the horizon low left, thick with stars, a faint dust of milky mist across the middle; no moon. The only light comes from those stars, cool and dim, so her face and the white uniform take a soft blue-grey sheen along their upper surfaces while the undersides of the folds and the grass directly beneath her body sink into deep shadow; there is no cast shadow on the ground, because the light falls from the whole sky at once, and a small bright glint sits in the single visible eye. The palette is held to white, cornflower blue and a near-black violet sky, with the gold of her hair and the small white flowers as the only warmth. Quiet, hushed wonder.
