The slime girl stands at the center-left, weight sunk into her right hip against the log wall, her right palm pressed flat to the wood for support, fingers spread and slightly sinking into the grain as if the hand itself is half-liquid. Her left arm hangs low, a long rope of emerald slime dripping from her fingertips toward the floor, where a small glossy puddle has already formed and reflects the firelight in a broken, wobbling ring. Her body is a translucent emerald green, the fire and window light refracting through her torso so the dark shape of her black shirt behind the slime reads as a softer, submerged silhouette. She wears the cropped jacket over the black shirt, the shorts and garter straps and black belt and black gloves, but every garment sags and clings under the wet weight, the jacket's long sleeves darkened and heavy at the cuffs. Her face is a slime face: features rounded and glossy, purple eyes bright with light, one brow lifted, mouth open in a small panting breath. Her slime hair has begun to melt down over her forehead in thick strands, the brown and white streaks bleeding into one another, the ahoge drooping forward, a strand of slime running from her jaw to her collarbone. She is looking down and to the side, past her own dripping hand, toward the puddle on the floor; her gaze tracks the drip. The fire is the warm source at frame left, throwing orange light across her left side and the wall behind her, while the window at frame right casts a cold blue rim on her right shoulder. Where the firelight passes through her transparent arm, it lands on the wall behind as a blurred green caustic patch. Shadows pool in the log grain and under the hearth stones. Palette holds to emerald green, warm fire orange, cold window blue, and the brown of wood. Mood: quiet, uncanny, and strangely calm.
