One More Song One More Challenge - Vocaloid 神威x巡音

💜💗💜💗💜 Story 💗💜💗💜💗 "Then I suppose I'll have to take this seriously." Gakupo spoke with an amused smile. Luka immediately turned back toward the game screen, wearing a determined expression. "You should have taken it seriously from the beginning!" "I have been taking it seriously." "That's not true! You still had time to look at me!" "Didn't you look at me as well?" Luka was momentarily speechless. She wanted to argue, but she realized that she really had stolen several glances at him during the game. Especially during the difficult sequence of rapid notes, she had even regained her rhythm after noticing his gaze. "Th-That was because I wanted to check your score!" "I see." Gakupo didn't press the matter. He simply smiled and turned his attention back to his own game machine. Luka looked at his profile and couldn't help puffing out her cheeks slightly. He was always like this. Although he usually appeared calm and composed, every now and then, he would say something that left her completely unable to respond. However, this wasn't the time to get flustered. She still hadn't managed to defeat him. The two of them browsed through the song selection again. This time, Gakupo suggested choosing one of the most difficult songs available. Beside its title was the highest difficulty rating, and only a handful of players in the entire arcade had ever managed to complete the full track. Luka examined the difficulty indicator, her expression gradually becoming serious. "Are you really choosing this one?" "Didn't you say you wanted to beat me fair and square?" "Of course!" "Then this should be suitable." Luka reached out and pressed the confirmation button. Both arcade machines simultaneously entered their preparation screens. She adjusted her long pink hair before carefully repositioning the earbud in her right ear. Gakupo also checked that the earbud in his left ear was secure, then arranged the shared cable so it wouldn't interfere with their movements. It was still the same single pair of wired earphones. The left earbud belonged to Gakupo, while the right one belonged to Luka. Through the same music player, they listened to the song that was about to begin. "Are you ready?" Gakupo asked. "Ready a long time ago." "Then let's begin." The countdown appeared again. Three. Two. One. The music started. This song was completely different from the previous two. Rapid drumbeats filled the opening, followed by fast-changing electronic melodies. Numerous notes appeared across the screens, with purple and pink lanes extending in intricate patterns. The surrounding neon lights flashed in time with the rhythm. Luka's fingers immediately moved across the touch panel. She was already familiar with the opening sequence and completed it without making a single mistake. Gakupo maintained equally impressive accuracy. Their scores continued to rise. At first, Luka took a slight lead. However, as the second chorus began, Gakupo quickly caught up. "Wait...!" Luka noticed the shrinking difference between their scores and immediately increased her speed. Gakupo remained silent. His purple eyes stayed focused on the screen as his fingers executed a complicated sequence of movements in perfect rhythm. The long locks of purple hair falling to his waist swayed gently with his movements. Luka glanced at him without thinking. Even during such an intense competition, he still looked remarkably composed. She suddenly felt a little more determined. "This time, I'm definitely winning!" She muttered under her breath. Gakupo heard her. "I heard that." "Then just you wait and see!" The song entered its final section. It was also the most difficult part of the entire track. Numerous consecutive notes appeared across the screens, requiring players to perform taps, slides, and holds simultaneously. Even the slightest hesitation could result in a series of mistakes. Luka concentrated completely, moving both hands rapidly. Gakupo entered his final sprint as well. The sound effects from both arcade machines blended with the music playing through their shared earphones. Around them, floating musical effects seemed to spin in rhythm with their movements. Ten seconds remaining. Luka's score suddenly overtook Gakupo's. Her eyes lit up. However, Gakupo immediately completed a consecutive PERFECT sequence, rapidly closing the gap between their scores. Five seconds remaining. Their scores were almost identical. Three seconds remaining. Luka successfully completed the final slide. Gakupo made no mistakes either. The final note disappeared. Both screens simultaneously entered the results phase. However, the results didn't appear immediately. A rotating musical note symbol appeared in the center of each screen as both machines displayed a message indicating that the final scores were being calculated. Luka stared at the screen anxiously. "Come on... Who won?" Gakupo watched his own screen as well. "Apparently, the calculation is taking a little longer this time." "Don't be so calm!" "I'm simply curious about the result." A few seconds later, the screens finally illuminated. Their final scores appeared. Gakupo: 1,024,850 points. Luka: 1,024,850 points. Another tie. Luka froze. "...Again?" Gakupo looked at the results and couldn't help smiling. "It seems our rhythms are remarkably compatible." "That's already the third time!" "Mm." "Don't you think that's unbelievable?" "Perhaps we really do have excellent chemistry." Luka stared at the identical scores for a moment without saying anything. She had expected this round to finally determine the winner, but somehow, the result was exactly the same again. However, she soon noticed something else. A new option had appeared beneath the results screen. DUO ENDLESS BATTLE MODE. This mode would record the scores from multiple consecutive songs and continue until one player finally gained the lead. Luka's eyes lit up again. "Gakupo!" "Hm?" "Let's play this mode!" "Endless battle mode?" "Yes! If we can't decide the winner with just one song, then let's keep playing!" "Until someone finally wins?" "Exactly!" Gakupo smiled softly. "All right. I accept your challenge." Luka immediately pressed the confirmation button. The new game mode began loading. Both players returned to their positions, placing their fingers over their respective control panels. At that moment, the arcade lighting shifted to purple and pink. Musical effects began flickering around them as the introduction of the next song started playing. Luka moved slightly closer to Gakupo. "This time, don't go easy on me." "When have I ever gone easy on you?" "You were obviously looking at me earlier!" "Because your expressions were amusing." "Gakupo!" He finally couldn't help laughing. The earbuds in their ears were still connected by the same shared cable. Luka looked at the game screen in front of her, but a small smile had appeared on her lips. She loved moments like this. Listening to music with Gakupo, playing games together, and even competing seriously over a few hundred points. Although the winner had yet to be decided, she had no intention of stopping. "I'll definitely win the next song!" Gakupo turned toward her, his purple eyes carrying a gentle yet challenging smile. "Then I'll look forward to seeing you try." The next song began. Their fingers started dancing to the rhythm once again. And the competition that had yet to produce a winner officially entered its next round.
