More to See

1girl, solo, pov, from below, looking up at subject, standing, train interior, hanging strap, holding strap, short sleeves, white shirt, grey pleated skirt, pleated skirt, black hair, medium hair, ponytail, tsurime, cool beauty, tall female, hairy armpit, armpit hair, exposed armpit, arm up, covering armpit, one arm up, other hand over armpit, embarrassed, embarrassed smile, blush, looking down, eye contact, bench seat, window, hand grip, clothing wrinkle, depth of field, The view is that of a passenger seated on the bench directly in front of her, tilted up from bench height, so the whole vertical of her body is seen in slight foreshortening: her shoes near the bottom edge, her hips and skirt at eye level, her face and the strap high above. She stands close to the doors in the aisle, one 176 cm frame filling the middle of the frame and dividing the car behind her. Her weight is on her right leg, hip cocked, right arm lifted high and bent to grip the white plastic ring of a hanging strap; her right sleeve has slid down the raised arm, and the short sleeve hangs open away from her armpit so a dark tuft of underarm hair shows plainly in the gap. Her left hand comes across her chest and presses flat over that armpit, palm covering the hair, fingers splayed over the raised bicep, knuckles turned toward the viewer. Her head turns down toward the seated viewer, chin dipped, tsurime eyes pulled wide and angled down at the lens with the sharp outer corners still cutting upward; her brows lift in the middle, her mouth is a small open embarrassed smile with the teeth showing and a warm flush across both cheeks and the tips of her ears. The ponytail hangs forward over her right shoulder with the black hair swinging from the turn of her head, loose strands at her temple. Her collar is open at the throat with the top button undone, the shirt front pulling taut from the raised arm, and the grey pleated skirt falls in clean vertical folds to mid-thigh, waistband riding slightly with her hip. The strap and chrome bar recede along the ceiling at a steep upward diagonal; other straps sway behind her at the same rhythm, and the bench seat's dark upholstery and metal grab pole run across the lower foreground, the seated viewer's presence implied only by the sightline. Fluorescent ceiling lights from above wash her face and the tops of her shoulders, cool white; her body throws a soft shadow down onto the skirt and the floor, and the train window at the right is a grey band of streaking dusk light with the carriage lights reflected across it. Palette limited to white shirt, cool grey skirt and seat, black hair, and the warm flush of her skin. Half-closed depth beyond her so the far car falls soft and out of focus. Awkward, tender.
