Ash & Misty: Stargazing Together!

There's something so special about this classic duo just sitting together under a sea of stars. I've always adored the dynamic between Ash and Misty, and this peaceful night sky moment captures their friendship perfectly. If this brings back good memories for you too, please leave a like and follow for more nostalgic art!

character: misty_(pokemon), ash_ketchum, copyright: pokemon_(anime), pokemon_(classic_anime), pokemon_sm, pokemon_sm_(anime) 1girl, 1boy, couple, hetero, misty_(pokemon), ash_ketchum, orange hair, short hair, side ponytail, asymmetric hair, blue eyes, blush, looking at another, fingerless gloves, black hair, yellow shirt, shirt, suspenders, blue shorts, shorts, starry sky, night, night sky, stars, heart, watermark, twitter username, from below, dutch angle, medium shot, leaning forward, head tilt, sitting, knees up, sky, open mouth, grin, one eye closed, pointing at viewer, A low, tilted dutch-angle medium shot from slightly below: the two of them sit side by side on a ridge of dark grass at the crest of a low hill, leaning toward each other, the whole upper two-thirds of the frame given over to the night sky. On the left sits the boy — black hair, short and untidy, spiking at the crown and falling in locks over his brow; the yellow shirt is on him, sleeves short, a pair of suspenders running straight down the front and over his shoulders; blue shorts at the hips; both hands in black fingerless gloves, the knuckles bare through the cut-off openings, palms braced on the grass behind him so his weight rests on his arms and his torso tips back, one knee up. On the right sits the girl — orange hair cut short, with the rest gathered into a high side ponytail that falls to her shoulder, its tied base offset to one side of her head; blue eyes; a white shirt with suspenders over it; blue denim short shorts; her legs folded to one side, one hand planted flat on the grass, the other raised in a point toward the lens with a fingerless-gloved hand, one eye squeezed shut in a wink, her cheek flushed warm across the bridge of her nose. Her tilted head and his leaning shoulder angle their faces toward each other; both look at one another, and both are caught mid-laugh, mouths open, breath visible as faint mist. The sky behind them is the anchor: deep navy fading to near-black overhead, blown out with stars — a dense scatter of small pinpricks and a few bright points, one sharp star flare low near the horizon line, a thin trail of cloud thinned to transparency so the stars burn straight through it. One deliberate rule of the physics: the grass under and around them is black, its blades picked out only along the top edge where the starlight grazes their upward-facing tips, and the undersides stay in darkness; their cast shadow is a soft, barely-there smudge that falls away from the sky's bright band, not toward it. The light source is the starfield and nothing else — cold, faintly blue-white, and it lands on the tops of their shoulders, the crowns of their hair, the ridge of her nose and his knuckles, leaving the undersides of their chins and the folds of their clothing in cool shadow. Palette: navy, black and a cool silver-blue for the night, the yellow shirt and orange hair as the only two warm accents in the frame, plus the bright flush of her blush between them. In the lower-right corner, small over the dark grass, a flat semi-transparent white twitter username watermark reads "@" followed by a short handle, set in a plain sans-serif at low opacity, resting flat and unlit against the ground. Cropping is tight on their knees and boots so the sky keeps its share of the frame. Tender, effortless.
