character: chidori_kaname, sagara_sousuke, copyright: full_metal_panic! 1girl, 1boy, chidori_kaname, sagara_sousuke, lap pillow, boy sleeping on girl's lap, sleeping, closed eyes, sleeping peacefully, girl sitting on park bench, park bench, sitting, slightly flushed face, blush, gentle relieved cherishing expression, light smile, half-closed eyes, looking down at another, gazing at boy, school uniform, white long-sleeved shirt, pleated skirt, red ribbon at collar, long blue hair, low-tied long hair, brown eyes, long sleeves, socks, boy with short brown hair, brown eyes, lying on side, head resting on her thighs, black jacket, military uniform, fingerless gloves, from below, slight low angle, looking up at the pair, park, outdoor, daytime, soft dappled light, two subjects, tender, reassuring The camera sits low, near thigh height, tilted a little upward so the sky and the leaf-shadowed canopy open above the bench. In the foreground the park bench's slatted backrest runs horizontally behind them, sunlit wood grain, and Kaname sits at its right end, weight settled on her right hip, her left leg angled slightly out, both knees together under Sousuke's head. Sousuke lies on his side along the bench, his right shoulder pressed into her left thigh, one arm folded loosely against his chest, the other fallen off the bench edge with the knuckle of his fingerless-gloved hand grazing the grass below, boots hanging past the bench slats. His head rests in the hollow of her lap, cheek against the pleated skirt, short brown hair flattened where it presses the fabric; his breathing is deep and regular, mouth slightly open, eyelids shut and relaxed, a strand of hair lifting at each breath tip. Kaname leans her upper body forward and down over him, her long low-tied blue hair slipping forward over her right shoulder to hang beside his ear, the red ribbon at her collar catching the light as a small bright anchor at the base of her throat; her left hand is laid flat and still on his upper arm, thumb resting on the jacket sleeve, her right hand hovering just above his hair without touching it, fingers curled. She looks down at his face, not at the camera, eyelids half lowered, a faint closed-lip smile, cheeks warmed with a soft even flush across nose and cheekbones, brow relaxed. Sunlight comes from the upper left, filtering through leaves: bright warm patches land on her white long-sleeved shirt, the pleats of her skirt, and the bench slats, while the underside of Sousuke's jaw and the hollow of her lap sit in soft green-tinted shade; his cast shadow falls across her skirt, and the shadow of the bench slats bands the grass behind. Dappled spots of light drift on his closed eyelids without waking him. Palette: warm sunlit greens and bench-wood ochre, crisp white and navy school uniform, one saturated red at the ribbon, Sousuke's muted black and khaki; background a soft blurred park of grass, tree trunks and a distant path, no other people in focus. Quiet, tender, safe.
